Summer in the Harris household continues to be one of keeping warm, keeping sane, and having fun. I’ve had to reach far into the “what did I do as a kid?” bag of tricks and ask my mom for projects and recipes. A couple of weeks ago I was reminded of the bubble fun we used to have with our homemade recipe. This is the best recipe. Seriously save your money and make this one.
The best bubble recipe around:
1 gallon of water
2/3 Dawn or Joy dish soap
1 tablespoon of glycerin
**for best results let age for 5 days **
At our house we also used string to make our bubbles. Take about 3-4 feet of string and tie in a knot so it makes a loop. Dip it into the mixture and slowly open so the bubble film is in the middle. You can make huge bubble by pulling the sting over your head and gently flicking your wrist. It's all in the wrist, people. Or if you are a purist you can simply blow bubbles using the string.
The word on the street is that Thuy’s M loves bubbles! So much so that his proud papa purchased him a bubble machine similar to the one below. Usually used for raves and dances, this machine doesn't mess around.
Only the best for Thuy’s little one. Perhaps it was for his 2nd birthday, which is today! Break out the glow sticks, lil' man!
Happy 2nd Birthday, M! Your friends Emi, Giancarlo, & Lucia hope you have a great day and want to know when your parents leave so we can throw a bubble party at your pad!

That bubble recipe is awesome. I haven't done that in a long time but it is good fun! And the bonus side is that the kids are really soapy when they are finished so they're super-clean when you get them out of the tub later :)
We had a bubble lawn mower when the kids were little. I just loved it!!!
Thanks for the great bubble recipe!!!!!! When it spills all over the floor now, I know it's just soap!
Happy Birthday....
I love bubbles...
Have a great a day...
Awww, happy birthday to M!
I'm going to make this bubble recipe ... as soon as our supply of dollar-store "fruit scented" bubbles runs out. :)
Happy Birthday, M!
I love that first bubble pic.
happy birthday and ya know! im 25 and still love bubbles...lol
what a fabulous idea. My kids are bubble crazy. I am so going to try this.
Happy Birthday M!!!
And I need to buy some glycerin because we got some big bubble sticks with strings on the end. Thanks for the recipe!
We still love bubbles and my eldest is 8. :)
We like to make salt dough ornaments... what to decorate? I don't know and it doesn't matter. No holiday... then just find a tree and make things for the fairies. Just making the dough and making shapes by hand or cookie cutter one day... paint them another 1-2 days. Decorate your target another day.
I'm so going to do this, by myself. Yes I'm 22 and about to have bubble time by myself!
Thanks so much for the bubble recipe!! Princess Nagger is always running out of bubbles, so this is going to come in really handy! :)
Happy Birthday to M! :)
The wonder of bubbles never gets old. Even adults have fun with them. It's like magic!
Happy Happy Birthday to M!
We are all about some bubbles and your homemade recipe is fantastic! It's a must try for sure. ;)
Happy B-day M! You have one AWESOME mother. Home made bubble solution? come ON!
That bubble picture is awesome! I sat and studied how the reflection is reversed in the bottom of it. TOOO COOL!
Great photo!
Hey, thanks! Maybe some bubbles can serve as a "Boredom Buster" around here!!!
Mrs. Nurse Boy
my son has his own recipe for bubbles! He makes a lot of bubbles with his spit! LOL! It's really cute and gross at the same time!
Now that's one mega bubble machine. Happy birthday, M!
Thanks for the bubble recipe, always looking for a good one! And a bubble party what an awesome idea!
Bubble Lawn Mower has been a must at our house :)
You'll have to let me know if you make the bread :)
Hi. Thanks for visiting my blog at Jen's (from When Pigs Fly) request. I appreciate that.
I just read through some of your previous posts. I'll plan to visit back more often for sure.

Happy bday to the munchkin! That bubble machine looks super sweet!
I loved making bubbles as a kid. I'm a sour mom because it annoys my when my son does them, because the soap always stays on the car.
I love the picture, did you take that photo?
I LOVE BUBBLES!!!
Happy Birthday, M!
that first picture is seriously cool!
THANKS! I'm off to make bubbles!
That bubble pic is so cool!
Yeah, I'm running out of activities with the 4 kids I nanny for. When does school start??
Happy Birthday M!
And Francesca, school starts Aug. 27th around these here parts. Not soon enough for Hannah G!
Hope all is well in San Fran.. :)
What a cool bubble picture.
I'm lazy and I just buy the Miracle Bubbles already made. We're a big fan of bubbles here.
Oh, Happy Birthday, M!
