Is Stealing the Mail a Crime?

Since I began blogging, I have become much more interested in photography. Most bloggers I know have cameras that enable them to take amazing pictures. Even my good friend, Keri, has a Canon SLR-STUVWXYZ. When you actually put our two cameras side-by-side, it is clear why her pictures consistently turn out better than mine.

However, I am a resourceful girl. It seems that Keri’s camera broke back in February and she had to ship it to Canon for repair. Rather than to continue to endure my turn of the century point and shoot, I have been stalking Keri’s mailman, waiting for Canon to ship Keri’s camera to her. Last week, my persistence finally paid off. I was able to intercept the package on its way to Keri’s house and “borrow” it for a while.

I have started taking pictures everywhere I go; inside my house, outside on my daily nature walks…I am like an unstoppable Ansel Adams. My only problem is that the box did not include instructions on how to use the camera. I have been forced to learn through trial and error.

Below are a few of my most recent shots. Take a look and tell me if you can figure out what they are. I’ll post the answers sometime over the weekend.

-Francesca

PS: Don’t tell Keri about this post.

Did you for real steal her camera?

You had me there until I saw the writing in the corners. Oh. And Big Foot.

That eye picture is super cool!

Great job for not having the instructions on how to use the camera...(grin!!!)

You're too funny - maybe Keri will give you some lessons on using her Canon SLR-STUVWXYZ - sounds like a mighty fancy camera with all those letters...it's gotta be special with 1/3 of the alphabet! (grin!!)

Have a great weekend - thanks for the funny! ;)

Yes, my husband has a Canon 5D, but I am not allowed to touch it. I dream of taking it out and taking wonderful shots, but I think he has an alarm system on it.
P.S. If you don't take that eye pic off I am going to puke.

I knew you were lying cause she only sent her lens off to get fixed. Ha ha. But the post is still hilarous. You are right, you are going to work on your picture taking skillz there..
The first one... hmm, greeny hangy things.. a fish or a plant? Dang now I can't remember the others. I will be back, I have to go open another window on my puter.

WOW - you've got mad skills!!! ;)

That eye pic is WAY cool, though!

It's a federal offense to steal people's mail...unless it is a 25% off Macy's coupon, then you are just saving them from more consumer debt and being a good friend. ;o)

oh how I wish I had a cool Canon SLR or even a Rebel to take pics with! My little powershot SD600 just isn't cutting it for me anymore. Keri's camera made me drool. ;)

Nice shots...didn't know you worked for AllShots Imaging and Paranormal Plus! And when did Bigfoot move to the Bay Area?!

Have a great weekend! OH and guess what? My awesome girlfriend who lives in San Fran is flying to PA this weekend for a visit! I just might have to sneak in her luggage on her flight back so I can call you up for a playdate...but wait then I would have to sneak the kids in the luggage too! Darn!...guess that won't work. ;)

Well now c'mon I can't even blow the things up to take a closer look? Well the first one reminds me of Kermit the frog. Oh way to go on kifing the camera, I think we will get along very well in hell together. Just don't forget to bring the camera.

Hy-sterical!

You keep on practicing, girl...I'm sure it will be awhile before she notices...

Aquaspce said...

Too funny! As long as you're "borrowing" I think it's okay...

Erin said...

Laugh out loud hilarious! I've never heard of that particular SLR. Where can I buy one? :)

You know, I just caught your comment on Marie Calender's. That's the most brilliant thing I ever heard. How to I become sponsored you think? Swim to their corporate Pond?

What a great idea!!!! I've got me some mailman watching to do.

I do love my canon too. I am sure she would let you borrow it for real for just a few shots. LOL
If we lived closer you could borrow mine. I just got a Nikon D90. wanna come visit?

Well, I definitely see an eye in one, and an elk or a moose in another. There's one that I think is fireworks.

Kimmy said...

Yep...that's my camera too! I love it and I have gotten some really nice shots too!!

LOL Great post! Love the picture of the eye - even though it's kinda gross. ;)

The second picture is an eye...kinda creepy looking, actually. Something is only a crime if you get caught or confess online to everyone who reads your blog.... ;o)

Deb said...

I have to say it.

When I read the first sentence of your blog, I read "photography" as "pornography."

Not that this wasn't a great post, but it did NOT live up to my pornographic expectations.

I'm SO telling Kerri!

Oh, Francesca! First blogger, extraordinaire and now photographer extraordinaire. I especially love how you embraced your art. So much so that you even copyrighted the images and watermaked them ;) You are gooood!

The moose shot is consistent with my mad skills!

I think the second one is an eyeball. What is circled in the woods? My imagination is running away! ;o)

Dude! Bigfoot! I'd recognize him anywhere.

Danyele Easterhaus said...

i don't think it's stealing when it's your friend..it's borrowing!

2. A weird eyeball, definitely NOT human!
3. fireworks seen without my glasses
4. flowers through spit bubbles
5.My plants after the snails get to them
6. A picture of a moose taken as it should be taken, on the run, cause mooses, meece, whatever are vicious little buggers.
7. My husband when we go camping.

Great photos! I love close ups like this. I can't wait to have a camera that can take shots like yours! :)

You have some serious photography skills. Amazing.

Sevi said...

I'm pretty sure if you give it back it's not a crime.

Awesome pictures, the eye on creeped me out a bit.

You are a card. Tell me does big foot smell funny?

So, stealing your friends packages now?? I don't want to have our first face to face meeting through a thick piece of glass and on the phone. Although, it would be very dramatic...we could put our hands on the glass as we talk to each other???

I hate to break it to ya but stealing mail is a felony. You may want to remove this post as to not be prosecuted. My camera is being held together with a piece of tape right now; hence the low quality pictures on my blog. BTW, nice pics....thief!

Sasquatch! Nice shot!

And don't worry! Your secret is safe with me!

Unless she offers a reward in which case you are screwed.

Live.Love.Eat said...

I stink at this game. Rhea at Texas Word Tangle does it and I just never get anything right. I'll say the 1st one is kermit the frog.

Oh, I love the eyeball! Very sinewy! Great picture taking, I say. Especially the one of Big Foot. With your eye, you most definitely should have been with us in Hawaii. You even knew we were at Germaine's!

You should keep Keri's camera. It's fate that you were able to intercept Keri's mailman. I think she would bless your union...

Great photos. I just put out on twitter that I am camera less. Boo hoo.

That can't be an eyeball, can it? It looks too fibrous but what do I know?

OH! Here's something that I know. I know you're a thief and I'm not.

Hello! Love the photos! :)

Just wanted to let you know that you have an award waiting on my blog!

Is the top one the bottom edge of tinkerbell's dress? I bet it is.

Eye ball, of course
fireworks (white ones? how boring)
Bee's-eye-view of outdoors
Something growing out of a bulb (irises? hostas?)
Starving buffalo
Monsterous racoon

Hilarious !!! I really enjoyed this post. Cool photos too ;-)

Becky @ Babes in Hairland said...

Wow, for the trial & error, I'd say you've overcome it nicely. Beautiful pictures. I'll have to show my sis the eyeball cuz she HATES them. (insert evil laugh here!)

Jenni said...

Okay that eye picture is a little freaky but incredibly at the same time. i love pictures where you can't really tell at first glance what you are loooking at.

Great photos! And I agree...I think so much of a great picture depends on what equipment you have. But also you can compensate with great photo editing skills as well. :)
