They pack their own trunk.
Seriously though, Gwynie is just like the rest of us in that she puts the health and happiness of her family above all else. Her recipes for turkey ragu and steamed peas are homey and delicious. And of course, she also shares a bit of the workout video her trainer, Tracy Anderson, sent her about working her butt. Now, you too can sweat like the star. (Try not to gag over Tracy's excessive fawning over Gwynie's "cooking talent.")
Check out Goop and nourish your inner aspect (whatever the heck that granola mantra means; I have yet to figure out.) Live your life like the star that I know you are.

Kacey, Francesca, Kacey, Francesca...Okay, is my name dropping not so subtle? Alright, I'll stop.
I have a confession to make. I love trashy magazines, like US Weekly and OK! My husband is quick to indulge this habit by signing me up for subscriptions because he secretly loves them too! I particularly love the "Stars Are Just Like Us" section, picturing stars doing mundane things such as picking up their dry cleaning, wiping their kids snotty nose, buying their own groceries, and packing their own trunk. The fine writing in this segment really does allow me to connect with the stars at a very basic human level. (Yeah, uh huh.)
It turns out that stars really do things that you and I do (gasp!): eat, sleep, take care of their own children, and of course, blog. Lately, I've been fascinated with Gwynie's blog called Goop (awful name, I know) or more appropriately, the "lifestyle newsletter." It's Gywneth Paltrow's way of sharing her secrets on style, food, self improvement, travel, and fitness; all the information and secrets her fame and fortune have afforded her that she is willing to share with the rest of us. So really, everyone can live like a star!
I admit that Gwynie's continual name dropping and ideas for shopping for $1000+ Chanel and Tod's boots and $800 a night hotel rooms may sound a bit haughty and pretentious, but you have to understand that she is a star, people. She makes lots of money and this is her circle of friends. Sweet Gwynie and I are so much alike really; I can't help but mention Francesca and Kacey wherever I go. It's not my fault I have such beautiful, fabulous, and talented friends?!

I think Goop is a perfect name for anythign Gwyneth does. Pure, yucky goop!
But I will admit that I also love those celebrity magazines. How else can I keep up with "current events?"
My husbands grandma who is 94 LOVE LOVES those magazines. She subscribes to every one of them--including the Enquirer and Star. The best part is----she believes EVERY word. If it's in print then it's gotta be true!! hehe!!
I'm the opposite of Barbaloot. I have a girl crush on Gwyneth. Why have I not been checking out her website???
I am a celebrity gossip whore.
And my coworker subscribes to Goop. Because Gywneth is completely ridiculous.
Oh my stars...I followed a link to Goop a few weeks ago! I cracked up at her link to her choice of wardrobe staples. I loved how she threw out "...I wore this on Oprah..."
I love the magazines as well but can't justify buying them so I have to get my fill in the dr.s office.
I live for the celeb gossip magazines too!! But the hubby refuses to indulge.
I am not a Gwyneth fan - but if she is good enough for you, I might have to check her out.
I've been wanting to check it out. I've been hearing so much about it. Thanks for the link.
Us and Star subscriber here. Yeah, it's a little embarrassing.
I know! I also love seeing them do mundane everyday stuff, can you imagine if there were pics of us like that? "Yvonne is leaving Target with her two kids in tow." It would be published in "Who Cares?" magazine. ha ha.
I am so not a star follower. I do, however, like to do a little slobbering over photos of Johnny Depp or that Jason guy from those Transporter movies. (My husband likes to tell me that people at work say he looks like Jason.) I will check out Goop! Have a terrific Hump day!
I love those magazines too!!! Sometimes when I'm "running errands" on the weekend by myself, I stop by Borders and catch up on all the gossip.
*sigh* I share your affliction. I, too, am a gossip junkie. I get mine for free from perezhilton.com :)
As for Gwyneth, she offends me on so many levels it's hard to quantify...
I used to totally be hooked on those magazines! But I cut them out cold turkey a while back, started reading more that took "thinking" and have never looked back. I don't even like to read them at the doctor now. It's totally crazy I know, never saw it coming.
It makes me wonder if I was a star how interested people would be in my nose picking.
Now how do you know she hasn't hired someone to write her blog for her? eh eh? Oh yeah, because she can pack her own trunk. (yes i know that pic was not of gwyn :)
well I WAS getting stuff done. And NOW I am all over GOOP. It's like LAME and fascinating at the same time. But, MY gift ideas are WAY better than hers!
Yah...That's my favorite part....STARS! IN TOUCH with their real sides! ( I just love IN TOUCH for stealing everything from US, but even sleezier)
And I like to refer to us weekly as "the newspaper" Cuz, well, IT IS!
Gossip is a girls best friend! Wait? Did I just say that.... Well I just love it, but try to keep from it. At least not let it be about me...hehehe
Never heard of Goop.
So, I checked out the good site and, um, wow. It's....memorable! I don't think I'll be subscribing to her newsletters any time soon.
You should be Gwyneth's ghost writing...it would be much more entertaining! ;o)
I LOVE the whole Hollywood thing. I must watch my gossip shows on all they do. I do catch myself thinking they are not just "one of us". How silly but try! Just because they make more money and we know them but they don't know us?!
Thanks for sharing the Goop website. I will be checking that one out for sure. Plus, my daughter and I follow her and her hubby (we love Coldplay!) and baby Apple. :o)
I must admit, I do indulge in tabloid television, like Access Hollywood, or Extra whenever I get the chance.
I must confess that I love gossip magazines too! They are my grocery store treat. It's the only way to keep up with my Hollywood friends...they forget to call me, so I have to read about them in US and People. Going to check out Goop. :)
I sure love the gossip stuff also. I am always watching the t.v. shows, internet, and mags. to find the best story. I will have to give this site a whirl.
Have a great day.
I think we do forget that stars are just like us. I mean I would have someone else wipe my kids nose, that gross (just kidding) I love being a mom, so even though I'm secretly well known (hehehe)I do all the things regular people do. It keeps me grounded.
LOL Goop really with all those people working and thinking for her you would think they could have come up with a better name. Still too funny, now back to the reality of my life. Makes you want to think man I wish I had a personal trainer and heck maybe just a nanny for those few precious hours ... LOL
I love her and the stars I could only dream ... :)
Thanks for stopping by again :)
Thuy.... If I'm ever rich and famous...my blog will still probably be about my latest wal-mart or target fashion finds. :-)
Francesca--The picture is not of me...but of my darlin' 12 year old,who wants to drive oh so badly...and she was makin' fun of my driving skills.
I think I'm worse than you because I even love reading The Enquirer...you know, enquiring minds want to know...
I'm running over to Goop right now...so I can start dropping names too!
One benefit to having four children and spending way too much time in waiting rooms is getting to read the trashy magazines. Love them!!
I love looking at (cause you can't really call it reading) trashy celeb mags as well.
Just looked at the "GOOP" site....and the section on detoxing. Sounds just AWFUL. Maybe I should try it though....

I think Gywnie is full of goop. Sorry Thuy.
Hey, Francesca you know darn well you don't even have to knock when you come over, just walk right in.
Thanks for informing me of this. I am one of those magazine lovers as well. Except my obsession goes a bit further. I must check websites as well. I am going back into hiding now and refusing to admit that I actually told my little secret.
You like trashy mags? I'll leave a stack on my curb for you here in PA.
Goop. This word reminds me of 'Something About Mary.'
(dictionary entry)...
Goop: noun. An unconventional, oftentimes nasty, substitute for hair gel. Not recommended for the faint of heart.
Sorry, chicks! I just made your blog PG-13.
i admit I scan those mags while waiting in line at the grocery store.
Love the trashy magazines the more gossip the better! Thanks for the tip I will definately try to go to her site and make believe that I fit in..Tee Hee!
Thanks for sharing that, I'm on my way to check it out!
I didn't realize celebrities blogged. I'm sure we all have tons of stuff in common with them... uh huh.
I never know if a celebrity blog is by the celebrity, or simply endorsed by the person, or?? I'm not too interested anyway.. only an author or two. I think its a good idea though. The media writes so much.. why not let the celebrity have a say-so too!
Give me a gossip magazine, a bottled water and someone to rub yummy smelling goop on my tootsies and I'm in heaven.
I, too, love the mags, but I can't love Gwyneth. I like her too much as an actress to become disgusted with her personally.
I don't love her.. but I am gonna check it out!!
I have a subscription to Star. I'm slime.
Oooh....I also have a weakness for the trash magazines. I secretly get in the longest line at the grocery store and flip through.
IS that bad?
Sherrlyn of http://www.lovesimplyhappens.blogspot.com says...Oh well I avoid them they make me want to eat.
Can anyone give me advice on getting votes for this grant without sounding like a spammer? ha ha really it's a big big grant--any photographer can apply by the way.
Goop to me is that HORRID hair product that a guy I dated ONE TIME(goop was part of the reason) not only used, but had a container of in his car.
I read a headline standing in the checkout line once: K'fed has 13(ok I forget the number) liquor charges on his credit card.
Uhm, really, Bank of America gives out that info, or K doesn't use a damn shredder?
~Mary
Hilarious post! Just caught up on your blog for this week. I so enjoy your collective blog.
