What's Love Got To Do With It?

Back in November, our very good friend, Wendy at Green Girl Art, tagged us with a meme for 75 loves. I followed up on the tag a third of the way at the time, posting a list of Giancarlo’s loves.

Although a few months have passed, I thought the week of Valentine’s Day would be an appropriate time to return to this meme and post another 25 items.

I have been giving this tag my upmost thought and consideration. During the time of year when everything is red and pink, coated in chocolate, and accompanied by flowers, what should I write about? Lucia’s loves, my loves, celebrity loves gone bad?

What about 25 things I love to hate? Now that might be interesting…

  1. Loud cell phone users
  2. Taxes
  3. Folding laundry
  4. Junk mail
  5. Telemarketers
  6. Driving down the freeway in what is no longer your clean car because the vehicle in front of you just cleaned their windshield
  7. Caillou
  8. People who should check their luggage prior to boarding an airplane, but instead try to shove it into the overhead compartment, while you are standing in line, waiting to get to your seat
  9. Missing garbage day
  10. Really bad reality TV on VH1 that I can’t help but watch
  11. The minutes after your child is given a vaccination shot
  12. Getting your teeth cleaned
  13. The mommy pooch that suddenly takes up permanent residence on your body after you have a baby
  14. Target on a Saturday morning
  15. Parents who do nothing to reign in their obnoxious or out-of-control children
  16. The phrases, “It’s not you, it’s me” and “We can still be friends.”
  17. Pop-ups on your computer, even after you have installed every piece of spyware on the planet
  18. The end piece from a sliced loaf of bread
  19. Identity theft
  20. The little old lady in the parking lot of the grocery store who clearly can’t see over the dashboard of her Lincoln Continental, but somehow manages to swipe the parking spot you have been patiently waiting for
  21. Guests on the Jerry Springer Show
  22. Mondays
  23. Lost…Three words: time traveling island
  24. Negotiating where to spend the holidays after you are married and, even more so, after you have kids
  25. Moving

Before I forward the meme along, here is a quick recap of Wendy's rules:

  1. List things you love.
  2. Choose a number that is significant to you. For example, 100, the year you were born, the day you were born, {you get the picture}. If you feel like writing a lot, go for it. If not, then cut back by choosing a suitable number.
  3. Tag 3 people.

Since there are three of us here by the bay, I will go the extra mile and tag 3 people for each of us.

Forwarding the love onto....

Tiburon at Shark Bait (Think of this as the playground at 3:00. Bring it!)
Kim at The Mommy Machine
Stephanie at Baseballs and Tutus
Nicole at Here's the Diehl
Pam at Twenty Little Piggies
Anna at Addison Marie
Jane Anne at Gravity of Motion
Karen at Mommy, I'm Home
Sue Q at The Quack Shack

As you know, I feel your hate for poor, weird, large headed, beady-eyed, no pupil having, Caillou. great list!

I am so with you on #10. Just add MTV in there, and I'm 100% on-board. It's so bad, and I love it so much!

and I thought I was the only person on this planet who hated Caillou!

*singing- I'm Caillou...that's me!*

hmmm...your list sounds exactly like my list.

Did you catch Bret this evening? My husband makes fun of me for watching this junk BUT then he sits down and proceeds to asks me 10 million questions about what is going on! ARGGGGHHHH! AND ummmm...the three new girls are sooo not hawt. haha

What? No way. I love Caillou! He teaches me a lot- like sharing.

We don't have a Target where I live, but I do NOT go to Wal-Mart at any time on Saturday. It's a circus.

I'm with you on almost all of it but the end of the bread...come on. That's delectable.

Congrats. My husband is a loud cell phone user...good gravy we are always telling him SSSSSSSHHHHH! Caillou...could he whine anymore? Can't stand that show.

Those are great! Can I just ditto!?! :)

Hahaha! I am with you on most of them!

I would like to second Number 8 and ammend it. People who ought to check their luggage but don't, get on the plane at the last minute, and insist on cramming their overstuffed luggage in the bin above my seat.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

love your list - I am going to think of "things I love to hate" all day!! My oldest is totally with you on the Monday thing - I just woke him up and he is mumbling something about school should start on Tuesdays! Now I am off to turn on some happy music and sing really loud - that will really bug him!

I don't even love the hate the bad TV on VH1---I just love to watch it. I'm not gonna lie, Flavor of Love was my favorite:)

Wow - I'm flattered! And I'm a little more coherent than I was yesterday, so I'm going to give this my best college try! Thanks for thinking of me!

And I don't hate Caillou as much as I hate...well, you'll just have to check my list!

I can't believe so many people hate the end part of the bread.

thanks for the tag! i'll be thinking about my list...

I have to admit that I love Target all the time.

Target on a Saturday? Lord have MERCY! The first two Target stores in Alaska recently opened, and if you enjoy panic attacks and immediate onset of claustrophobia, I highly recommend visiting them on Saturday afternoons. Right before Christmas is best.

BTW, thanks for the tag . . . my shriveled black heart and I are off now to think up a list of the lovely.

For gods sake...who thought of Caillou? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Please, from a parents perspective, let me have my daughter watch a child that is so annoying and whines constantly. Now I have that stupid song in my head...Thanks Three Bay B Chicks!!! Make it stop!!!

Melissa said...

Calliou... oh my heavens. Just the thought of that irritating whiny voice makes me see red! Love the list :)

Heather of the EO said...

We have so many of the same dislikes. I mean, not just the obvious ones like taxes, but also Calliou. Make him stop whining and teaching my children how to pout and have fits, PLEASE.

Heather of the EO said...

Oh wait. For me, it's Target on SUNDAY. MOVE out of the way people and stop snarling at me!

We are TOO much alike! I hate every item on your list, except for Lost!

Number 8. It's my favorite thing I love to hate. Although, sometimes entertaining!

Thanks for the tag!!! I can't wait to play along!

Love your list. I think #23 is my favorite!

Jo said...

You and I love to hate some of the same things! The overhead luggage idiots? Check! Caillou? Check! Some things were made to be hated.

I think I could just copy your list and make it mine.

Cool! I just blogged about this the other day;)

Great list!

Pam said...

Hey there friends!

Thanks for stopping by my place and for "sharing some love" with me. I'll get right on that!

Thank goodness my girls were never Caillou lovers. He's irritating!

Gotta run, reality TV is on and missing it!

Pam

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks Lost has gone retarded. As for the rest of your list. I agree.

If Caillou were my kid . . . well, I shudder to think!
