I love a good bargain and, in our area, the first and foremost place for such deals is the venerable Craigslist. Where else can one swap things, search for a job, find an apartment, potentially meet their future spouse, and sell their old baby toys, all in one URL? Also, did I mention I sometimes go on to read all the missed connections? Some are really sweet messages of yearning and some are just plain creepy, but it's fun to casually browse...just don't get sucked into reading them all.
Lately I've been on Craigslist because I've been searching for the perfect desk/play table for M and, though I keep searching with the mentality of, "I'll know it when I see it...", I quickly became frustrated at having to click on every post just to see the posted picture. Well, it looks like I found a site that only shows me the pictures within the category I'm looking at. It's called Listpic, and it's been a simple solution to filter out only the posts that have pictures.
I admit it's not a very robust search tool, but it does the job for a quick browse in the morning. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

Oh yes, they must include a pic or I'm not even looking.
Very handy to know!! I bought the youngest child's sax off of Craigs list for a real deal. Better than ebay if you really want a bargain.
I haven't heard of this, thank you for it.......I use Craigslist all the time, and I'm with you......no picture.........no interest.
one of my friends....just posted an ad...for another friend on craigslist. it totally made me smile to read what he wrote about her, and how he wanted to help her find the perfect man for her...
but...
it wasn't so sweet when she found out about it, one would have thought that he posted naked pictures of her on the internet!
....
i sure do love craigslist
and i love reading the best of craigslist!
:)
Love being able to see the pics so easily. It actually annoys me to click in and out of the individual links, lol. But, yes, we are on a Craigslist hunt, too. Always something! :-)
We have a local tv station that does listings like this as well and you can see the picture in the posting before you click on it, unlike craigslist. I love it.
WOW...that's pretty cool!
I love Craig's List! It's fun to read up on what people are willing to advertise on the web.
My friends rely on Craig's List, but I'm too easily frusterated by it. Sometimes it's worth is to pay the extra dough simply not to have to spend hours looking and time in frusterating/confusing email conversations. This is at least a little more helpful!
yep! i agree too... a pic is a must!
I love to see what is on there sometimes you may find something so strange.
On Craigslist you can click a little box to filter out the ones that don't include a picture, or are not in your price category, etc., after you search say, 'desks', and they give you a whole bunch, you will see it up top.... hope that helps.
I am a visual type of gal. I NEED the pictures or I won't even look!!
I didn't know about this function! Thanks :)
There are some very bizarre things on Craig's List.
I recently tried to sell an electric guitar and a man responded that he would give me fifty dollars cash. He said he wanted to buy the guitar for an underprivileged Romanian girl. Umm...Yeah.
I was also wondering about Chick Chat. I think my date is coming up.
Hmmm... handy. I'll have to check that one out. Thanks!
YEP! me too...no pics no buy! why people wouldn't put images i have no idea...but it drives me nuts!
Yup, I'm the same way....I need to see a pic of what I'm looking for or i won't even click on the ad!
I thought I was the only one who ever read the missed connections!!!
you know I've heard tons of great things from craiglist, I def want to sell some things on it and yes I will post pictures!:)
As someone who currently has three items for sale on Craigslist, I like this! Does anyone need a vacuum cleaner or two Britax car seat in great condition??? Anyways, thanks for finding that!
That's awesome! I hate it when they don't have pics.
We once got $3000 chairs for $300 on craigs list!
Not a typical experience, but a great story (and FABULOUS knoll chairs)
I like craigslist a lot, this is a great tip! And I haven't laughed that hard in weeks - I had no idea there was a missed connections page!
"Missed Connections" on Craig's List! Oh good lord! Who knew?!?!? Now THEY need photos!
Thanks for the tip!
