A Photo Montage

The lovely Peach Out of Water tagged us. The assignment: Open your fifth photo folder and post your fifth photo.

This should be an easy task for someone who has their photos properly organized either on-line or on their desktop. However, if you are someone like me, whose photos exist in literally 5 different locations, then how do you choose?

I commenced my search using the photos saved on our desktop.

Wow! A prime example of how we have more photos of my husband's home improvement projects, than we do of our children. Pictured here is the pizza oven that Geoff is building in our backyard.

Surely I can do better. How about the photos on our external hard-drive?

Another photo taken by Geoff. This is of his 1975 Harley Davidson Sportster in our garage. Not a single person to speak of, but maybe our blog will get an additional hit or two when someone's Google search goes astray.

Still looking. Perhaps the Shutterfly account?

Now we are getting somewhere. A photo of Thuy, Geoff, me, and the rear of my beloved bulldog, Monty, taken during a luau party we threw about six years ago.

And yet, I feel compelled to do more. Peach regulary sets the blogging bar very high. Her ability to capture her children on film, whether in the middle of a cry or just spending time playing dress up at home, can only be described as a gift. Her response to this photo tag was no different.

Given that Peach posted a Halloween picture, I will return the favor:

Here we are on Halloween, two years ago. Giancarlo was the lion to my Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Even though I did have a pair of ruby red slippers, there were a few differences between me and Dorothy...the most obvious being that I was 8 months pregnant. Note that the elastic waistband on the dress is stretched as far as it can possibly go. I also had to wear a petticoat/slip since my costume wasn't exactly designed as part of a maternity line.

Giancarlo did learn how to roar as part of his Cowardly Lion responsibilities, though.

Passing the tag love onto five bloggers whose photos make me smile:

Barbaloot Suit: The hunt for Kacey's teal prom dress continues. Much to my dismay, I discovered last night that I do not have a copy at my house. Rest assured, though, that my commitment to my mission remains true. I will be contacting her Mom to obtain a copy.

Okay, commenters! I'll start the bidding... $50 for Francesca's luau flip flops! Even if she did tear apart a lei and hot glue the flowers to dollar store flip flops, the finished product might as well be Jimmy Choos. Nice.

I'm loving the family photos! My kids have just discovered W of Oz, so I'm hoping we can do a similar themed Halloween this year. Either that or the boys will be T-birds and the girls Pink Ladies. But I digress.

Have a wonderful week :) !!! L

The Dorothy cuteness is off the charts! Who looks that good pregnant without airbrushing?! Totally unfair. :)

I am like you. First we have two computers, and THREE online picture accounts, AND an external hard drive, soooo, the rules don't say which one, so I think you are safe. Love the boy as a lion, sooo cute roaring!

I'm just happy we finally get to see you! (well, me, anyway. I haven't seen a picture of you since I started reading your blog.)

Our whole family did Wizard of Oz this year. Only I didn't get to be Dorothy....the kids unanimously agreed that I should be the wicked witch of the west. Oh well.

Those Halloween pics are SO CUTE. But, I kinda think Giancarlo shoulda been Toto....WHat? Too lazy to get a Cairn Terrier costume?

Why is Geoff conspicuously un-costumed in the Halloween pic? What, is he too good to dress up as one of the members of the Lollipop Guild?

Fantastic!! Loved the post. It brought several smiles to my face, but I admit none bigger than the thought of Geoff as a member of the Lollipop Guild as FFL suggested!

I found out through a mutual friend that we have something in common. "Pilar" was my Spanish name in HS, too!!

Still recovering from a wild evening. Have a great week!!

Those Halloween pictures are adorable. The Harley, I must admit - cool too. At least it's actually HIS! My hubs saves pictures onto our hard drive of random pictures of vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and other random toys he finds on the internet. When I'm searching through my photos and find his random shots, I always scream, "What the...."

You are so cute as Dorothy!
Did you have ruby slippers too????

Jo said...

And yes Francesca, that cute, teeny, tiny, needle felted piggy would be your prize, should you join us at the meet and greet! Just tell me ahead of time so I can make him, just for you!

In response to "FFL"'s question...I am not in costume because I had rushed home to catch this!

In response to "Sticky"'s question "what do I have to do to get a pizza oven in my backyard," the answer is simple: let your significant other buy a motorcycle (or other toy that you despise) on what is supposed to otherwise be an important day for you (in this case, it was Mother's Day Weekend...at least Francesca's second and not her first)!

And you know I think you could make a business with maternity Halloween costumes!

The picture of your husband's motorcycle cracks me up, because my husband has done the same thing—we've got a hundred pictures of his Kawasaki that he's taken in the garage and out on the driveway. I guess women take pictures of their table settings and guys snap their vehicles.
