America's Most Wanted

Have you seen this toddler?

Northern California detectives are on the look-out for this adolescent and you should be too. They say the baby girl shown in this photo remains the focus of an international manhunt for her alleged crimes.

Lucia has been seen exiting various businesses and pre-schools with the following items:

Scene of the incident: Blockbuster Video candy aisle
Stolen item: Cherry Passion Tic Tacs

Scene of the incident: Her brother's pre-school
Stolen item: Safari Farm Ram

Scene of the incident: Wells Fargo Bank
Stolen item: Dum-Dum Sucker

In the most recent episode, police fear that Lucia may be altering her pattern of simply hiding the stolen item in her clenched hand until her mother discovers her later trying to eat it. Yesterday, while at the bank, Lucia pushed the Santa Claus mug containing the Dum-Dum suckers onto the floor, smashing it into a million pieces and creating general chaos, all as part of a diversion to steal a sucker.

Although several tips have trickled in regarding Lucia's whereabouts, she's managed to remain at large. Detectives are hopeful that this won't always be the case, but for now, the fear is that she will strike again, laughing at the fun of it all.

Hee hee hee! Great post! I think if she has a career as a shoplifter ahead of her, you need to get her to get you some nice earrings.

Oh, what a cutie! I stole a sucker once when I was a kid. I really thought the police were going to come for me.

She is SO adorable!! Hey--anything for a sucker right?!

Brilliant post! You're such a great writer!

Lucia is precious. Let's hope the authorities don't find her. :)

Thanks for the giveaway exposure tips! I will have to check those sites out....

Oh dear! But actually quite adorable! I have a little shoplifter myself. The worst are those car shaped grocery carts where she can easily take things off of the shelves at the checkout.

I love it. Deb Jr. once stole candy at the zoo...I was mortified.

How do you come up with this stuff! too funny...this happened to us at Toys R us during Xmas shopping, however since Fiona is old enough to know that we (she) stold it, I was forced to make my mother go rewait in line to pay for the "stolen" Barbie Chocolate coins, so Fiona could see that you must pay!

I think she would get off with a warning on account of overall cuteness!!! Great post and thanks for the offer to protest at Gap Headquarters for us...I'll try again for the Regis and Kelly contest. Maybe both our babies will be finalist and we can meet in NYC. :)

That's so cute. I stole something..once. I was at the local market and walked by an irresistible open bag of cirus peanuts.. I took one and popped it into my mouth. My mom found it and marched me right up to the customer service counter. She made me give it back, dripping with saliva and all. I never stole anything every again.

Oh Francesca, that was too funny! I think we might have one of those running around here somewhere.

Have I said you're a genius lately? Just sayin.

My son had stealing spree at the Disney store 2 years ago; it was about 30 minutes and 3 stores later that I saw all the Higgly Town Heros stuffed into the stroller. Um...

I (ran) back to the store and piled all the stuff on the counter for the manager. She was really nice about it; she even said, geez we didn't see all that stuff disappear either! We could not believe how many toys he had; like 7!, stuffed under him.

Some people's kids I say. Bwaaahahahaha!

Blessings, Carolynn

She doesn't have to steal a thing from me. With that face I'd give her anything she wants!

Hahaha! That's adorable. You need to start training her to shift her focus from sweet to shiny!

Erin said...

They are always cutest when they have a smile on their face. It's almost like you WANT them to steal the sucker, because they are so darn cute!

With that little smile, she should know that every one of those items would have been given to her if she had just asked!

Lori said...

LOL! I love Mina's comment... "shift her focus from sweet to shiny." Classic.

Hey, I've been missing my marbles for the longest, is that Lucia's doing? She is the cutest thing ever. What a perfect picture to go along with your post.

I have an urge to check her pockets for the remote to my DVD player.

She is beyond cute. Does she have a boyfriend because Jack is the strong silent type...and I promise to raise him to be a gentleman that puts down the seat.

Kids are notorious thieves! My mom said when I was a toddler she would go to fabric stores and when we got home she would find spools of thread that I hid in my stroller!

She is SO cute. Wow though, that would stress me out as a mom to have my little sweetie swiping stuff! It reminds me of my brief childhood career as a thief (after being driven back to the store to confess to my theft of a pack of gum, I did not try it again!)

Francesca,

I am a SAHD. And yes it is work. I have a new found appreciation for what you ladies do. Fortunately for me I have only been doing it on a temporary basis. I am looking to forward reentering the workforce now. :)

Oh, you are in trouble! That girl is way too cute for her own good! I'm guessing that no one even minds that she is stealing stuff, because they would probably GIVE it to her if she was old enough to ask! She's just too cute!

Jessica said...

wow, I can't believe how cute she is... you must just sit and kiss those cheeks all day long!

So what you are saying is that a sweet tooth can be the start of a life of crime? I always suspected.
