I was due in August, my baby shower wasn't until the end of june and no one would let me buy anything. I was sneaking onsies and pampers here and there, and had dreams that I had no clothes for my baby. I'm glad hubs was able to help you find a way to channel all that energy.Felicia - I complete Mehttp://www.icompletemeblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-603895221264624626.post-17478021081918538382009-05-11T21:37:00.000-07:002009-05-11T21:37:00.000-07:00Ahhh how sweet, Better than Van Gogh :)Ahhh how sweet, Better than Van Gogh :)Alexis AKA MOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10829562970824293447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-603895221264624626.post-75739528715858962352009-05-11T12:53:00.000-07:002009-05-11T12:53:00.000-07:00That first paragraph describes me all too well, ri...That first paragraph describes me all too well, right about now!

LOVE the paintings.

With my first, I painted a bookshelf with animals, and a name plaque (which I did on odd sized canvas paper, and STILL - two years later - do not have in a frame. *hangs head in shame*).

This time around, I haven't done anything, but I've had some good intentions. We always had paint in the house, wood carving tools, leather working materials. etc.

In turn, I have always left art supplies out in kids' reach. Scissors, paints (kid proof of course - for now), paper, markers, glitter glue, googly eyes, feathers, beds, etc. Now they are getting into my yarns, fabrics, etc., too. My eldest turned 8 this year, and despite the occasional mess... which I always have them help clean up... I love the results. They are creative and regularly copy the art they learn at school, or create their own art.

It's also teaching responsibility. I've had no home made haircuts, because they've alway had access to scissors and know how to use them. Messes are cleaned up or reported... not left to congeal! etc.

I love your and Tyler's paintings! And that's a great first step to encouraging creativity in your kids.. show by example :)Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667481504650498976noreply@blogger.com
